CONSOLATION
When one day you realize you’ve passed from grief and denial to acceptance and release…
We feel your loss each morning and your memory we share
as our spirits touch each other for we sense you yet aware.
Then later, still together, afternoons are bitter-sweet.
We honor your young life this day, wish life would death unseat.
Birds in song, dogs at play, light streams through the glass.
Tears we spill for care and loss do not our love surpass.
With hope we trust what lies ahead, tomorrow a new day.
Though your spirit soon must leave us may your mirthful echo stay.
We ask you now to shepherd us and guide us in the ways
of discovering the laughter that you left to fill our days!

I tried to be normal reading this and then that light through the glass bit got me all soft…
